Almost two years after my work related accident I have yet to be compensated either for medical expenses or loss of income.  However the insurance carrier,  77th of the fortune 100 companies last year reported revenues of $38 billion, continues their “deny, delay and defend” policy.  

Requests from Nevada entities empowered to assist are “Toothless Dogs” powerless to enforce payments from insures that have assumed the risk (issued policies) collected premiums and still do not pay. The sad issue is that the Nevada legislature removed “bad faith” from Nevada NRS in the 1990s.  Thereby removing any incentive for insurance companies to pay.

Letters to the Dept. of Insurance, Business and Industry, Attorney General, Senators, Representatives and even the Governor have shown that the workers comp insurance is worthless to Nevada injured employees.

All the while spending millions of Nevada’s tax dollars on court expenses to handle the frivolous court filings, homeless programs and medicaid. Not to mention public service personnel having to do with disenfranchised “street” people who lost everything including their dignity because of non payment.
